Description

Killian Jones (Captain Hook) from Once Upon A Time played by Colin O'Donoghue

I'm testing out a new colored pencil technique where you shade in grays then apply color. I wasn't going to color it because I enjoyed the greys too much, but I got bored then BAM! Color. I feel like I'm kind of finished, but I can see myself applying more layers of color in the future.

Question: Should I make a tutorial on this technique?

Prismacolor Colored Pencils

30% Cool Grey
50% Cool Grey
70% Cool Grey
90% Cool Grey
Black
White

(will add the rest of the colored pencils later for reference)

Reminds me of Barret from FFVII for some reason

I had to look him up because I had no idea who Barret is. Maybe its the coloring and shape of the jawline?

I thought about doing just shading shapes and application technique as well as doing skin tone color palettes with this technique because the grey does affect the vibrancy of colors.

Do you think it'd be more prudent to just do a step by step tutorial on a piece of art I'm working on or would the shapes be better?

I think... you can do it step by step tutorial on the example, but in addition a description of the application technique surely would be a helpful must contain also bases of this technique.
but perhaps next will be a more advanced for the begining well is to get fundamental knowledge on subject this technique.
finally in a few days I will be able to also to get down to drawing
