WARNING: THIS IS A LONG ONE....

"Andy!!!!!" Andy's father Evan Swinburne yelled from the living room. "Andy get up, we have to be at the institute by 10." Evan said.
Upstairs in his bedroom Andy was half asleep and half in stasis mode. He was sitting at his computer desk with a USB chord plugged into a port on left left side. He turned his head towards the door when he head his father call him, but was unable to answer as the program was updating his vocal synthesizer. He didn't know what else to do but pound his foot on the floor. Just to signal to his father that he got the message.

"The hell is he doing up there.....he better not be..." Evan said as he began to climb the stairs. He approached Andy's bedroom door. He hesitated not know what he was going to find on the other side of the door. Looking up to the ceiling, "Please don't let him be doing something I don't want to see." Evan said.
Evan slowly opened the door and peeked his head in. He let out a sigh of relief and walked in. He saw that Andy was sitting there with the USB cable attached to him. "What's going on?" Evan asked. Still unable to talk, Andy just pointed at the Laptop on his desk, where the other end of the USB cable was connected.

Evan looked and read the "Alert" box that was not he screen. "Now upgrading vocal synthesizer.....Please Wait." it read with an hour glass spinning.
Andy shrugged his shoulders as if to say "I don't know". Then the alert box disappeared and Andy's vocal synth came rebooted. "S....SS....sorry Dad. It told me to update." Andy said in a tone of voice that didn't sound like him. "You sound like Barry White." Evan said. "Who????" Andy asked. Evan was taken aback and shook his head. "Nevermind, can you adjust that at all?" Evan asked his son. Andy turned towards the laptop and opened the "Vocalization" tab in the program he had. He made a few adjustments and then spoke again. "How's this?" he said but realized he sounded like a chipmunk. "Uhhh...." Evan said trying not to laugh. "It like your voice is changing all over again." Evan said laughing.
Andy made another adjustment and this time, his voice sound like it normally should. He unplugged the USB cable from his port and stood up. "I'll be ready in few minutes. I just have to get showered and......" Andy said but stopped. "take all this crap off me to do it." Andy said.
Evan shook his head, "Ok, I'll be downstairs. You mother has already left for work."Evan said. "Ok Dad, give me a few." Andy said as he walked towards his bathroom.

After a half hour, Andy came down the stairs ready to go. "Dad, I'm ready" Andy shouted. Evan came in from the kitchen. "You want something to eat first?" He asked. "Nah, I'm good for now. Maybe we can stop on the way home for McDonald's?" Andy asked. Evan shrugged, "Sure, why not. Just remember they are finishing up your external plating so you may not feel like eating." Evan told him. "Dad, have you ever know me to turn down McDonalds'?" Andy said laughing. "Yeah your rite." Evan said.
Evan grabbed his keys and the both went out to the driveway to the car.

Only they arrived at the at the institute, the went inside and Evan talked to the Nurse at the desk. "Uhhh. Andy Swinburne, he has a 10am appointment?" Evan said. "Ahh...yes. We'll be with you in a moment. In the meantime, please have a seat in the waiting area over there." The nurse said. Evan turned and saw Andy walked past the waiting area. "What's wrong?" Evan asked. "Nothing, I just feel a little awkward being here. They are basically going to disassemble me and put on new coverings." Andy said. "No they are not. They are just replacing what's already there. Besides, you need to have more than one set of coverings. There are 7 days in a week son, you need seven sets." Evan said. Andy nodded and heard his name called. "Andy?" a nurse said. "Yup, that's me." Andy said. "Follow me Please" she said.

Andy and Evan followed the nurse to a room in the back of the lab. Soon after the Dr. walked in. Dr. Peter Kemp was a cyberneticists who was responsible for installing Andys' implants. He was probably about mid 40's. A head of jet black hair that was greying on the sides. He had one of the thick beards that was salt and pepper and stood about 6'1. He had a slight German accent that would come and go at times.
"Hello Andrew, how are your feeling?" Dr. Kemp said. "So far so good. Nothing bad to report." Andy said. Kemp nodded "Good, please have a seat on the table Andrew. We need to remove part of the outer shell." Kemp asked of Andy. Andy hopped up on the table and the doctor began to remove some plating from Andy's chest. This was the first time Evan had seen this happen. "Does that hurt him?" Evan asked. "It shouldn't, but there can be some minor pinching once in a while, Especially if a line or cable is snagged. Under the plating, Andy's still human torso could be seen. "The skin of his chest looks normal and seems to be taking to the implants quite well. Now we also have to fix the left side of your face. You can't go around looking like that." the Doctor added.

The Doctor turned to Evan. "How are his eating habits?" Evan tilted his head from side to side. "Eh....just like he was before. Of course he has eatin' every bag of potato chip my wife and I bring home." Evan said. "DAD!!!" I did not. You helped." Andy said. The Doctor smiled. "Just remember Andrew, that you still have organic parts under all this mess that need to be cared for like a normal human." he said. Andy nodded "Yes sir" Andy responded. He hooked up Andy with anther USB cable and read the vitals of the implants and his human vitals. "Everything seems normal. Which is good to see. Now comes the fun part Andrew....Let's go get you some new stuff to wear." The Doctor said.

NOTES: In the middle of writing all of this, I decided to break this up into parts. I tried to space out the wording so it's easier to read. Part 2 will be along shortly. Where Andy gets some new duds and some insight as to what they do at this institute. If people want it.

I still have to put it together. LOL. Once I started writing all of this, I was on a roll. The stuff just kept coming and coming. Also I want to show an image of what Andy looked like BEFORE he got his implants. Working on that as well. I hope I didn't bore anyone.
