This is the first page of a sketchbook a friend and I were going to do together. The concept behind it was art with the heart, or art & the heart.

When I first saw this in my inbox I thought it was just a diagram, then I realized it had to have more to it, so I clicked. I'm really glad I did. The picture itself is lovely and the message just makes it even better.
I really love the way the veins look spidering over the heart.

I feel a bit like an idiot, but...what are the "two things" referred to? Either way I think this piece is amazing, I like the medical illustration aesthetic combined with the very artistic message.

Don't feel like an idiot. The "two things" refer to heart and art. One being a picture of something, the other is what it actually is. Kind of like Magritte's famous piece, "This is Not a Pipe".

I'm a medical student so I may be appreciating this even more, but I must say, it has nice, confident lines. It is in colour, and it in pen.

That's REAL visual poetry... not what I was expecting, but awesome all the same!
I can't do like this, I get caught up in the structures of the poem and lose sight of the visual....mine tend to be a bunch of words stuck to a picture.

An interesting concept indeed, I like the colors, the shading and the typography suits it all very well. I hope you post more of this book, I haven't shared my work with anyone else so far and it always makes me curious when people doing that.
