How exactly did you go about creating the base, as well as the gloss. Did you trace with paths? I really want to start making my own icons, but I don't want to rip another person's base. Yours is great!

the new iphones screen now has 325 pixels per inch which is double the resolution meaning smoother less pixxelated edges on graphics, the new icons need to be larger to support the new resolution toherwise they will be smaller

The new iPhone has a higher resolution, so a new icon template suited for the new resolution could be used to get higher quality icons. That's my guess...
