also lots and lots of referencing from RL and photos. @_@ it takes a long time. i've been majored as a character designer for about 10 years now.

freelance, means i do it on my own without a boss. Β I take care off all my work. i'm pretyt much my own boss lol. but i live off the art. its still my job

yeah it can be, unfortunatly it's the only way for me and i get burn out cus this was really my hobby but i'm disabled and can't work a normal job so it's the only way i can make money to pass the time while waiting for SSI to get their rears in gear. it's hard but i get by.Β
if you ever do let me know, i charged $15 a sketch (single character) range goes to $50 for full color, because my colors in experimental stage. since DA's not my normal front (FA is) anything I take here's sorta a side project that Β I take whenever some one wants one. no one on DA commissions me like ever lol.

yeah, i do what i love, i'm not gonna complain about that, its just hard sometimes finding the drive/will to slave over it. ungh. sometimes the art just doesn't come and when i do work i'm always weighed down by it when i wish to be drawing my characters and stories, but i can't draw them till i finish work because the whole time i feel i should be working on paid things and ungh... its a vicious cycle.
i've been on DA since it opened pretty much. there was only about 1000 people on it, if that. it was a small community in the beginning. all the artists had the time to talk to each other, and I made a lot of friends that i still value to this day, but some have drifted so far away, some i never hear from and have disappeared entirely, DA doesn't care to take care of some of it's oldest supporters so....Β

ahh i honestly forget when da started i know it was very small i never was a member then but i enjoyed going through the site and seeing everyones work that inspired me to continue with my own

yea art cycle when you want to do things for otehr people you get nothing to do from them and when you want to jsut sit and draw personal art and your characters and bring them to life
you cant because you got what you wanted before

DA's been getting lazy with everything
because now theres so many artists on here
i know a good bit of them moved from an artsite due to close on the 30th of this month Sketchfu
i know alot moved from there to here if they werent here already
DA's grown so big its just
its almost as if they just threw up their hands like the managers of Sketchfu did and sketchfu didnt have much on their plate other than stealers and people talking trash about the artist and such
DA has to deal with alot which is understandable
but they have the funds for it unlike sketchfuΒ
and should care about the artists that joined their community and are putting their faith in the site that their work is safe and they dont have to worry about it
even though there are many ignorant people out there that just
go agaisnt it even though its plainly obvious most times

people have left due to that rumor that IS hopefully jsut a rumor

lets jsut hope DA sees the lost of some of their people on here and see
in the long run thatly effect them in someway
less people buying PPMS
less people buying points
