jake i like this ... would have loved it if the spine had been as sharply in focus as well. maybe try blending two exposures with different focuses?

i haven't tried any either. here's a description of one technique - but i haven't tried this either. here's a description of various bits of software used by someone else - includes focus stack software [link] not tried it
