Indeed colorful! I just love how you can use color to shadow and highlight. It's gorgeous and his look is priceless!

Thanks again for taking so much time to look at my work in depth. There is always colour in shadows, you just have to look for it, an easy way of painting them is to use complimentary hues of the main skin tones, that way it makes for the biggest contrast, think of red against green or yellow against purple etc. Black in shadows is a big no no, It kills the picture dead. If you look at Impressionist paintings, it's very rare to find Black at all.
