Okay... so here's the solution to the question I asked inWhat could this be? and
What could this be? Part 2.
Think of those pics as detail shots now.
Anyway, I'm quite pleased with the outcome of this photo. I was standing on the visitor platform next to their feeding spot and trying to get decent pics of them. NOT easy when they are really close (I had only my telephoto lens with me that day), constantly moving and people upsetting my balance, because they all want to see...
So this pic and one other are the only ones not blurry. In fact, I'm really surprised how well this turned out. The hairy parts look cool against the blurry background, IMO.
What I also like about the pic is how you have the close-up/detail in the front and in the background you have a blurry hint of what animal you're actually seeing in the front (if that makes any sense... can't seem to properly describe what I mean
).The pic is a bit cropped, too. Took away some of the left and the upper part to focus more on the mouth of the close fellow.

This is all kinds of fabulous, really.
You really have a dry sense of humor as a photographer, I like the choice of focus and background, because it gives just enough clues to make the guessing game fun without making me scratch my head.

would have been able to guess from the detail shots I had posted first?
I really wanted to have a closeup of the head of the giraffe. this one and another one were the only ones that turned out well. this here was the better, though, because of the blurred giraffe in the background.
with them constantly moving, it was really a lucky shot (and one I'm pretty proud of
