Don't copy and paste. Save the cut image as a .png or .psd. Then open the image you want to paste to and select File>Open as Layers and select the file you just cut and saved!

Great tutorial. Although I do have a question about it. I might be doing something wrong, but I don't think so.
When I use this tutorial, I do everything you said (paths tool, close circle, add alpha layer, invert , clear), but then when I go to copy and paste the image into a background, it only copies the transparent selection instead of the horse I just cut out. Now, the horse has the little dots going around it like it should, but it just shows up as the transparent background whenever I try to copy and paste it. So am I doing something wrong? Or is this how its supposed to be? Any help you give me would be greatly appreciated! I can't cut using the eraser tool anymore, way to time consuming! lol

Instead of copying and pasting save the image you cut as a .psd image. Then open your background image and select file
Let me know if that helps!
