Description
I drew this for the first round of the penciljack.com fight league P.U.M.M.L.E.I got to choose the topic. I wanted to choose something that would allow my opponent creative freedom. So I just choose the topic of hunting.
I thought about drawing this on paper but I hate scanning in images. Also I feel so resticted when I draw on paper. I feel really confined but the boarders of the paper. If you look at the download you can see how big I had to work on this picture to feel comforatbale.
This was originaly going to be a gang of hunters taking this thing down like in Capcom's monster hunter game. A hunter on horse back with a lasso around the Rex's neck. A hunger flying through the air about to stab Rex.
Time constrictions, and wanting qulity overall are what stopped me from going though with that.
Perspective was tricky. I was having touble making the Rex look big. I deided that I had to make the warrior smaller and lower in the picture. I also made sure that since the camera was from a lower angle that the tops of the Rex's feet didnt show. The trees boardering the bottom of the picture really added scale and balance.
I originaly drew this picture in #00AEEF. That's a light blue. I was planning on going over the lines in black but dedided to just clean the lines up and make them black later.
When I did make the lines black it was a bit too much; at least I think it was. A little too dark for me. So I turned the blue lines into a daker grey, then used the color balance to make the lines a kinda blue, green.

Awesome! Your choice of the lower angle really paid off to convey the size and power of that T-Rex, and the detailing on it really draws the eye. The hunter is well-rendered, especially those flowing braids.
Overall, I really like the composition of this piece.

Wow, this is an amazing piece! It looks very much like a comic scene, and the perspective is in full action. Great job!!
