As The DC Unlimited continues to add potential casting choices for the universe, giving us a variety of heroes and villains with incredible voice actors from the past and present. There should be room for neutral characters. In the Suicide Squad, there are vast characters that walk the morally grey, but they always have someone lawfully neutral to guide them on the most dangerous missions. Enter Rick Flag Jr. Until recently, Flag wasn't given much to do outside the main comics, during the 10s Flag was absent from the comics til Rebirth and The Frist Suicide Squad film. What should be noted, in a team consisting of super criminals, forced to do unspeakable black ops missions, in the name of the US Government, you need a moral lynch pin to hold the team together, and no one embodied it better than the son of the first Suicide Squad team leader. I decided to go with Josh Duhamel for the voice. Not only does he have a leadership tone in his voice, demonstrated when he played Captain Lennox during the Bay Era of Transformers, but he's also voiced in DC Animation before, in the recent Batman The Long Halloween, as part of the soon to be short lived Tomorrow-Verse. As Flag, Duhamel can bring to life a character who knows the value of his own team, and why it' uphauling to use criminals with the the threat of death. He may not necessarily like the people he's forced to work with, but he respects his own soldiers, and has a grudging relationship with Amanda Waller, and he's able to keep his team and Waller in check with reality, that the mission shouldn't be a reason to sacrifice humanity. Especially for a man who still believes in the American Dream, and what we could achieve as a nation. And I believe Josh Duhamel can bring to life these aspects of a soldier whose seen war, and will do anything to protect his nation, yet who isn't subservient to the government.
