Your scratchy shading reminds me much of O'Barr's work in his Crow comic series. The scarecrow almost sems to be taunting, challenging. The shading in the background appears as rain to me, and the texture and depth you engrave into this piece seriously wins my favor and holds this nearly "frightened" enchantment above the head of the viewer.
