I have always appreciated the Eastern ways, especially the warrior aspect, whether its the Shaolin Monk or the Japanese Samurai and their ways of discipline, seeking stillness of mind and peace. So when I see these warriors in put on paper I take in inspiration and study of each piece. That said, awesome piece man

This is a beautiful piece.. but i wonder.. if he's wielding the sword with his left hand, shouldn't the sheath be on his right side? I love the piece no matter though!

I swear I saw that bamboo move. Being a sucker for blue and all, I love the kimono; also the patterning is quite beautiful. It's nice that he looks a little older, and isn't a muscle-bound-steroid-freak like a lot of your other male figures. With everything pointing in some way to the left, I can't figure out why the composition feels so solid and doesn't want to fall to the left. There is plenty of movement, but it's equally weighted. With all those psychic lines, I almost wonder what exactly is below the left side of the page. Is he just posing, or is someone/something down there? lol Maybe that's the point, heck if I know. Neat pic!

Also truly gorgeous...he reminds me of the guy in "Crane", again very graceful and also deserving of a favorite.
One thing I really love about this outfit--and perhaps the idea of the samurai in general--I like how there's the detailed flower/lace work on his outfit, but there's no doubt what a powerful, deadly warrior he is. Such a cool combination that you just don't see so much in the West.

Very cool! I always love to see japanese-styled weaponry. One thing, just a head's up, the blade end of the sword always faces up when in the sheith, so the curve should go upward instead of down with the sheith. Other than that, fantastic work, I love it! God bless, keep it up!
