I like Sargent's portraits quite a bit, and you've done a pretty nice job doing one in digital.

I can see where you're going but I think you could get tighter with this and still be unfinished to the point of calling it a study. Something about his face makes my eyes water.

I'd really like to see a similar study in traditional media by you, because I think the struggle there would help you in your digital work.

Thanks! I see what you mean. It was kind of an awkward choice of image to study from, I think. I do have a similar study in oils I would love to do them more, it seems to feel more fluid in oils, but it's always a hassle to clear out the workspace and make room for everything.
