I actually just scribble and guess and mess with the Alt mode parts and it's theme... heh, refining is hard and yes, the fill black is a good Idea not everything can be fit in...

Well I don't know If I might do another movie face tutorial. You should try to apply some of the principles to Ratchet.
BTW Most of the autobots faces are based on animals

do the others look like animals cause i dont really see it? cept for bumbleebee for obvious reasons. you said he looks like a bull which is true but i remember when me and my friend first saw the movie in the theatres, ironhide came on screen and she said "omg he's looks like a cat bot!" XD

Check out Ratchet he reminds me of a walrus and masked Prime has a very eagle-like look. The decepticons look like reptilian and insects. Of course with everything it may be a little loose or very heavy on look of the animals.
