NOTES
It’s actually a wolf and a lamb in the biblical passage, but the misquoted version seemed cooler to me.
I know that this concept is something that has pretty much been beaten to death, but I wanted to try it anyway. It took an obscene amount of time and a disgusting number of layers. But I’m pretty happy with it.
It represents, quite obviously, a cessation of violence.
Somewhere along the way, I drew this voluminous, luscious mane for the lion, drew in every strand, paid excruciatingly close attention to light and shadow. It took a couple of hours. And it looked completely ridiculous. So I ended up patching one together from bits of a photo, then drawing over that. Hooray for cheating!
I rather like the lamb…and I think my eyes are getting better.
