Description

(Since most of the picture was done yesterday, the title of this thing has yesterday's date. I didn't include the actual date on this drawing as I thought it might ruin it a bit, even if it'll be in the corner)

Hillo, guys!

I decided to drop that "O-ho, the next theme of my drawing is...!" thing as I might not like the fact that I need to, for example, draw a bunch of bubbles at one day because I did the list of themes for two weeks ahead. I decided to draw when I want and what theme I want at the moment.

X DiVE is traumatizing.

Chapter 8 came out some time ago and I with my friend were trying to piece everything down by translating the japanese script together (since chapters in DiVE are not that long and I don't ask to translate the entire chapter, only some particular parts, she helps me out when I really need it). Then I saw Quicksilver Marino's artwork in DiVE and we both 'died'. But because Rockman is my... speciality, I 'died' more than her, she just ask if I'm sure that this franchise is CERO B (CERO B is mostly like T for Teens or 12-14+ rating for japanese games).

I was really sad. I was like the parent that was disappointed in their children, but I think I was kinda overreacting to is a bit too much for myself. And as for the plot, it's still to early to rush to the conclusions that will also reflect the global canon.

And then I spent 12th of June drawing some cute creatures that my mind was producing (I'll post the sketches later, they deserve to be posted). But after 5th creature, I thought: "I usually draw Axl if I feel bad. That doesn't seem right... am I distancing myself a bit too much from this thing?".

13th of June comes, I try to make myself feel better. I'm going to the kitchen to make some tea while still thinking about what X DiVE did to me, and I keep hearing one particular part of X8's opening in my head: "tsukuriwarai... sonomama na no? shiawase na no? uso wa nai?" (Are you going to keep faking that smile? Are you happy? Aren't you lying?) which for me are often associated with Axl for some reason... and it clicks.

"I didn't draw beaten-up Axl at all. It's my chance."

Because I'm a sick sadist and VAVA would probably be proud of me.

So, two things:

First, don't worry about me. The maximum amount of time I can be pissed at something is roughly 1 day (24 hours, don't include the time I sleep) and I would still be all that cheery and funny anyway. I might just remember something I'm angry at sometimes. I'm OK, don't worry.

Second, this idea was with me for some time already, along with something bigger. I thought that I don't know where to put this part in the bigger idea, so I decided to make a separete piece.

You know what? I think emotions are the best thing that can push an artist to make something truly beautiful, along with passion, of course (and not always emotions are good in that regard since you can just begin to want to destroy everything you see on your way because of how pissed you are (not about me, fortunately) and sometimes the results of it are not really good). I would not draw this picture if I was in a wrong mood for that. Or, at least, it would look not as good as this (and I'm still not really pleased with the results. Shading here is a bit off and... Damn you, Maverick Scum, Zero).

This suppose to be my vision of X7's ending. When X began to feel better after his long breakdown, he began to act more like himself. But in the ending... Well, OK, you at least was worrying for the kid, but when Axl woke up, X just turned around and started to walk away while even ZERO of all peo---... of all repliroids turned around and walked away after X did so (he wasn't first to walk away, wow), but he even looked back at Axl while he was getting up on his feet. The way X acted in this game even after the breakdown state of his has ended gave Zero actual nightmares that were foreshadowing Zero1. Luckily, X quickly returned to his former self.

OK, it turns into me complaining about X7 that I even call decent in the story part (the basis of this story is strong, but excecusion might've been better).

...So I wanted X to hold out his hand to Axl when he woke up, while Zero... stands behind X? I really didn't know what to do with Zero but I wanted him to be here. So I made him stand with his arms crossed and eyes closed, thinking about something? Could've been better, but I started to draw his last and I was afraid of leaving a hole in my paper from erasing a lot. What you see as a complete 'product' is 6th or so attempt. Theming here wasn't even on the list I did. No way hunters would still be all shiny after entirety of Crimson Palace. I know that there's no actual reason making the damaged high-detailed models of hunters just for one short scene, I'm not here to judge, but I'm sadistic, I would not be against seeing damaged hunters. So I picked up "Damaged" theme mixed with black-and-while traditional coloring I did for Gungaroon and started to work.

But OK, I hear that "what's the meaning behind all this if it has it?"

I wanted to satisfy myself. Say "it's not over yet, you shouldn't give up just now, at least because there're others waiting for you to continue do stuff and you still enjoy what you loved before this moment, blah-blah-blah" to myself. That's all, really.

Also it's from-left-to-right drawing (from Axl to X and Zero). I remember reading about this and I clearly remember this set-up meaning "progression". Thus the name of the picture.
