Page 13. I always believed that her loss to Viper would badly affect Cammy's self-esteem. And apparently, according to Capcom themselves, actual martial arts are no match for gadgets and magic powers.Previous: autoclave07.deviantart.com/artβ¦

I remember reading this for the first time and you and I had a discussion about how a fictional character is different for different people. The Cammy in my head, for example, has always been a bit playfully cocky. But serious where it came to her friends and her missions. The Juri anime, for example, really caught how I imagined her personality.

I suppose I could watch that anime again, if I could stand to watch any SF animes anymore. Me, I really like how Masahiko Nakahira wrote her in his Cammy manga. But I think maybe we have a similar view of her.

Sadly I dislike the fight scenes in that anime, but enjoy the character interactions. For example I like Guile teasing Chun-li and then Cammy getting on his case for teasing her when she is bed ridden (but you can tell she is joking as well). It all feels very natural. And then when Juri taunts them about, "Hey? Where is that Chinese chick you brought last time?" Their expressions of anger are good. Very good team building in that anime. Sadly the fight scenes were not good...

Ah I watched the Japanese language version, so I missed out on all the dialogues Guile got a good fight scene with Juri, even though I find it hard to believe that she could take a Flash Explosion to the face and not even be knocked down. Cammy got a crappy fight scene, as usual. At the very least, she actually got to fight, sort of, unlike every other SF anime she's been in. I still hope Capcom never makes any more SF animes ever again.

Well it is a short anime so the scenes where Guile, Chun-li, and Cammy are working together are also short. But I really liked those parts. They hint at them being a very tight group. Chun-li, for example, in her hospital bed making eye contact with Cammy and saying, "Be careful." And Cammy, after a slight pause, nodding. Little things like that.

"Actual martial arts are no match for gadgets and magic powers?"
I suppose it depends on the circumstances but generally, I don't agree.
I mean, gadgets can malfunction & magic can be unpredictable.
But I guess Iron Man & Merlin would have different answers. LOL

Yeah, well, if one is to judge by Capcom themselves, Cammy has neither, so she's one of the weakest SF characters. They'll NEVER give her any credit. To them, she's clearly only there as fanservice.

Well, even if they won't give her credit, we will! So, up yours Capcom!
Never under any circumstances would I classify Cammy as weak! But that's just me.
