...just some practice with the tablet. Izanami's a fun model to use, particularly when drawing kimonos.

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to mention I've also revised her background.

I thought her original background was lame so I rewrote it. Instead of her encountering and getting possessed by a sprite that would later give her toxic skin, I decided the poison skin thing should be a bloodline trait shared by all the women in Iza's family (this was inspired from reading the Basilisk manga).

There was a story on how they believed toxic skin was achieved. Long ago Iza's ancestor Tokiwa, the Grass Lord's poison taster, invented a potent mixture to make herself immune to poisons. It did the trick all right, but years of service combined with the medicine later made her entire body toxic to the touch. She discovered this when her lover touched her and accidentally died from the venom.

How was Iza born if the women in her family were poisonous? Well, obviously those who touch them die, but there were a few brave ninja who were willing to lay it on the line for the beautiful but venomous women. Only girls were conceived, it is assumed baby girls are immune to the poison whilst the boys die.

It can be assumed Iza, despite her longing for a life together with her team-mate Kazuaki, has decided against having a child the way her mother and her ancestors did as it involved needlessly taking lives. Not to mention that it would be seemingly cruel to have her own child live through the same, loveless hell she endured.
