Description
Steve's search for an authentic Japanese classmate to play Kato has led him to Derek Takahashi, a new character I'm auditioning. I'm still fine-tuning his personality, though - he comes across as very angry in this story 'cause Steve is throwing him into a cosplay scenario that he has no interest in, but I already have a couple of angry characters. I'm going to try to make him a bit more pleasant in the future.Related content

You already got angry characters, but looks like DerekΒ΄s anger is justified. Just think, when someone cames close to you with an racial stereotype on mind it gets more infuraiting each time "Heey, you are jap, then you are a karate expert!"

Hey a gay Asian character; this comic has gotten more progressive.
This is the kinda guy who would have alot of Slash fic Fangirls

And Kendra can get pretty angry too (though only when it comes to the animation world). That's why I want to tone Derek down a bit, so I don't have a strip full of characters who are just yelling all the time. Already I'm making some last-minute rewrites to this story to make him a little less bitter.

A possible Idea is if you use Derek again he becomes friendly and outgoing towards everyone except steve.

Looks like he's a keeper that will be good if you want to do a serious story about LGBT pop culture issues.

Any particular reason you've chosen for Takahashi? Because I have these 2 sibling characters also with the last name Takahashi. I'm not sure where I got the name from.

I just try to create names that "sound" right. "Derek Takahashi" just kinda rolls off the tongue.

What slash couples do Derek & Shawn ship? I think a good one would be Kevin Levin/Ben Tennyson from "Ben 10"!

They're not into slashfic. I'm still working out what I want to do with them, and I've entertained the idea of making them athletic students, like Aaron. Shawn is on the school's baseball team; Derek is on the swim team.
