Here I am, trying to explain why those trees on your photos are huge...
But I almost forgot to tell you what a pretty photo I think this is.
What I see in all your photos is that you grasp the part of lighting, composition and colours. You capture these three things as if its the easiest thing in the world.

Well, it is indeed not all that easy. I often reflect which lane would be right as to the position of the sun, before I go somewhere. Of course I also take shots as I come along, but generally I plan them. And: nothing like morning light with some haze!
I am very pleased you appreciate my efforts so much!

These trees you shoot (not only in this picture, also in general), they are gigantic. Have any idea how old they are? Up here few trees ever grow that big, and if they do it takes them atleast 150 - 200 years. I mean those are huge.

Taken in consideration that these places in The Netherlands excist for a while now. I guess I can say that these trees are about 100+ years old. Buildings such as 'Kasteel Groeneveld', which is an old Castle build in 1710. These castle do not look like a typical medieval castle, they were designed to be 'country-houses'. It was populair amongst the wealthy people of The Netherlands to have such houses. The main purpose was to have a place outside the big cities, to escape the busy streets. But enough about the history about a certain type of place.
What I meant to explain was that the region is pretty old itself, and the trees that we're planted in that time, aged over time. Survived harsh winters and other things. Thus they've grown to this size.
(Gosh, I can imagine you will lose your focus on what I was trying to say somewhere in my short story, sorry for that. xD)

I would guess they are indeed about 150 years old. Most lanes are from the middle or latter half of the 19th century, though there are later ones, too. Sometimes lane trees have been cut down and new trees were planted, but it will take a long time for them to get really impressive.
