Description
It gives me a very happy feeling to look at this beautiful lane shot in its early autumnal splendour, taken at the end of last October near Maartensdijk/The Netherlands.I took it during my first bicycle trip only nine days after my heart treatment, still wondering how risky it was to go on a 10 mile trip so quickly again. I am so glad I did go. Like this I got some good shots.
And with the good feeling that all the weeks afterwards showed a steady improvement, I can now look back without that certain shiver which I felt at that moment.
Today I am glad, too, that I present you the RAW version of this picture, once again processed with Nikon Capture NX2.

jc, are you saying you are able to upload RAW NEF files to dA? or did you convert it to jpg? I have always wanted to use dA to do calendars. My jpgs aren't large enough, and it wouldn't (the last time I tried) accept NEF. What am I NOT understanding???

I hope you solved it by now. I just keep converting to jpeg.

btw THIS does look like a dreamland from LOTR or something. Are you playing with the color points now?

Thank you ever so much. Yes, it is quite a sort of dreamland here, especially in early autumn.
I am actually not yet playing with the colour points. Just correcting the exposure whenever necessary, making the shadows somewhat lighter, add a little bit of contrast and sharpen the shot. I must say the NX2 makes it very easy, as you start from the picture as it comes out of the camera, not with that grey nothingness which you get with Photoshop Elements 7.
I convert the result both to TIFF and to Jpeg, and then use the jpeg-version for the upload here in dA.
