Looking on the Kiel Fjord from Schilksee in the early morning: a view never to be seen again like this, as these beautiful trees were cut down this spring.Related content

The harbour area was restyled. Those planners told us that the trees were old and dangerous (the branches could break in a storm), but I think they just wanted to have their clean new view. It must be admitted that the renewed harbour area generally has improved, but it remains a pity that those trees had to go.

We had a big protest here not so long ago to protect our wood (out our back) & amazingly won... but that's the first of many i'm sure

They said they were old and getting dangerous. But I think it was just a lot of young planners who wanted to do something new. See for the new trees my latest Schilksee shot on the esperimenti gallery. They say that these little stumps will grow one day.

I know the feeling, somepeople always want to replace the old just becuase its old, failing to appriciat the
beauty that can be found. I will check out that photo soon.
