Description
Always appearing in pretty high numbers, these mushrooms are crawling up especially sick or dead birch trees. Hopefully our specialists will again be able to come up with their name.Taken near Hilversum/The Netherlands.

Wonderful picture of Armillaria ostoyae (Dark Honey Fungus, Sombere honingzwam).
Lives as a parasite on living (and afterwards on dead) wood.
The heads/caps of this mushroom are edible when they are first cooked and then fried. (the poison disappears by cooking the mushroom).

oops.. aboslutely no idea for a name.. I quite good when it ocmes to mushrooms which grow on the ground, but those growing on trees are a total mystery to me...
