Thanks a lot. Yes, it would be a good hiding place, if I were a bird!

Just a suggestion: what about also visiting my other two galleries here on dA, if you do not know them already:

Perhaps you will like to take a look at my other two galleries on dA, if you do not know them already:

Oh, let me go see where it is exactly... There are so many thumbs, it's not easy to pintpoint 1. Okay, I found it... It's on the 9th row form the top, all the way to the left, just above the macro of all the coloured pencils.

...maybe I just need better composition lol that is my usual problem, I get all excited when I see lots of those woody textures, shapes, knots and gnarly bits, then when I see the pics I took I think 'omg that looks boring' !!!!!!!!!! and out they go !!! anyhooooo keep trying I will

siegbrunn [2006-11-30 09:33:53 +0000 UTC]

Great shot. My eye keeps jumping back and forth from near focus to distance, which I don't understand, because the photo is actually 2 dimensional. Super effect.

I think the next big storm though and that tree's a goner.

jchanders In reply to siegbrunn [2006-12-07 21:06:25 +0000 UTC]

Fortunately that tree stump survived quite a few storms in the meantime. So I am more optimistic about its future. Old oak wood can be very tough!

how strange the tree grew this way. Great capture here.

Well, there had been a big branch at the place of the "eye".

Dear me, how is Ansel Adams?

qworty In reply to jchanders [2006-12-07 22:32:11 +0000 UTC]

Well I think he is dead.
But this picture reminds me of things I saw in an exhibit of his work except for the color cause I think all his stuff was black and white.

jchanders In reply to qworty [2006-12-08 09:47:29 +0000 UTC]

I feel flattered. I just googled him and saw some of his great pictures! Actually he died in 1984.
