In the winter months the cows at the farm of the country-house Einde Gooi near Hilversum/The Netherlands stay in their open stable. No chance to nibble the grass at leisure. So feeding time sees an onrush on hungry cows, each trying to get its share as quickly as possible.Related content

Well, it is a very ingenious system which can be closed completely, and which when opened just allows one cow in each opening. Like this they do not push each other off the food.

And here I was thinking that ALL cows in The Netherlands were Friesians or Holsteins by law...
They look very contented.

No, the big lot are the black and white ones, but these brown ones raised for meat only come up more and more.
