Gouda is one of the typical small Dutch towns. The low light of the late December sun kept the cars in the shade and so concentrates the view on the beautiful old houses of this canal, the so-called "Turfmarkt", meaning "peat market"Related content

Beautiful shot JΓΌrgen. This one puzzles me, there doesn't seem to be room for cars to pass between the buildings and the parked cars, especially on the right side of the canal. I'm sure it's an illusion but it's a good one.

Oh you were in my town!!! gosh I wish I had known!!! I would have invited you over for a cuppa!!! dat weet je onderhand van mij.. maar kan me ook voorstellen dat je net zoals velen het een beetje ''eng/vreemd zou voelen, zo bij een vreemde op de stoep te staan, ik zou het ook niet gauw doen hoor, maar toch had ik het wel erg leuk gevonden ..... jammer.......it's a fantastic Photo JΓΊrgen!!

Ik beschouw dit als een uitnodiging. Alleen weet ik nooit hoe mijn stemming zal zijn ... Op het moment is het maar weer eens minder ...

Ja.. het is inderdaad een uitnodiging, maar ik begrijp dat het niet gaat voorlopig, het spijt me om te horen dat het wat minder is, het is mijn hoop voor je dat zeer binnen kort betere tijden weer aankomen..... van harte !

Heel, heel hartelijk dank! Ik moet er gewoon weer doorheen. Het zijn vooral de ochtenden die niet leuk zijn. Maar ja, het is intussen een heel oud lied. En het wordt acht keer per jaar gezongen. Daar blijft alleen maar geduld. Inderdaad zullen de betere dagen weer komen!

Yes, these places were certainly not built for cars. And if you look at my other Gouda shot on my lightthinkerΒ΄s gallery, you will see what happened when they took the canal away to create room for cars! A broad road without character ...
