Description
Some of you have found the scene on the shot which I submitted yesterday rather eery. So you would probably prefer to walk there in the morning, would you not? Indeed I had been there in the morning too. So I can give you an idea how it looked there at that time.Again taken near Bilthoven/The Netherlands.

Very mysterious and beautiful. I this one too! It almost makes you feel "refreshed" when you look at it, almost renewal.

Mmmmm...I love beech trees. These are so wonderfully old and solid...gives such a feeling of permanence and stability. A very rich image.

what an amazing old growth forest. I feel like I may stumble upon Hans en Grietje. You have a beautiful gallery too..

Many thanks for the praise. Well, the forest is "rejuvenated" from time to time and generally alas not very old, but the old beech lanes are mostly kept intact. That is indeed very good so.

I have a deep yearning to visit the Netherlands as my father and my mothers father both hail from there. My fathers family is from the north west. a small town called Wervershoof
by the Ijsselmeer. Although you say the forest is not that old, it is more grand than most seen in my area. I'd have to travel seven hours distance to see the same. You are very blessed.

I am sure you will make it one day. No forests near the IJsselmeer though, at least not in the northwest. Actually I do not know Wervershoof, but I understand very well that you feel so much attracted by it.
Yes, I know we are extremely lucky to live here.

I like them both equally well. I see you have found another orange-leafed to highlight the scene .

Yes, nothing like the colours of beech leaves in the winter to give a bit of colour to the winter forest.

From the opposite point of view too? (That tree with the face appears to be on the right in this one!!)

More than one of these old beech trees have kind of faces. I find it difficult to say now where I was standing exactly, but as far as I remember both shots were made in the same direction.

Strange.. Comparing them, it does look opposite. But you would know of course and there is another tree with a face, 'though it doesn't look the same one... No worries!
