very clever how you use to title to anticipate that i would complain about the fact that the gull doesn't look to the side

Oh, that gull! It just did not want to look the right way. And when it did it took me too much time to focus with that 72 mm extension and the shutter lag. The latter is quite a nuisance with my cam.
But I am still very glad with your comment.

Well it IS stunning. It gives such a lovely mood. I could have said more...my first thought was what is the gull thinking?? I imagine it's the same as me, just sighing at the view. Its beautiful the way the light reflects here Jurgen.

Yes, I focussed on the gull. Using the 72 mm that was absolutely necessary. The distance got into that pleasant haze like this.
