Description
A path near Bussum in the Netherlands, showing those rather bleak colours of a March forest, while the sunlight is already strong. Soon it will turn it all into a sea of green!Related content

As with most of the comments here I love the way the arching of the trees creates the impression of an endless tunnel through the forest. I just wonder could the image have been cropped at the edge of the small brown leafed tree on the right hand side as the archway is the focus

I see your point. Still I prefer this version as this shot does not just show that archway, but a path that cuts through the forest, having been lowered by walking and erosion, compared with the grounds on both sides. There is a meadow on the right, which creates some openness on that side. I like that contrast too, the closeness of the forest on the left and openness of the meadow on the right. I am quite a radical cropper at times, but this times I prefer it this way. Still many thanks for the suggestion.

you know what this reminds me of? where I lived the first 7 years of my life, we had a place on a hill called "Hasenrutsche" (Bunnyslide, for the english-speaking readers).
Your picture looks like one could fall in and slide down the path fun !!

Yes, with some snow and a sledge, this path should be fun.

Wow, another awesome shot to add to your kickass gallery Great work!
I really like this one. The slope of the path adds to the focus nicely.

Thanks a lot for putting this gallery of mine on watch. You know about the other two?
You find this path when you follow the cycling path from Trappenberg to Oud-Bussum. When go down the hill, it is a small path to the left, at the side of a meadow which you can see from the cycling path.

Beautiful...

Yes, it is a beautiful little path. And quite uncommon for the area here as it is cut into (low) sand hills. Thanks a lot for the fav.

So each of us has his or her preferences. Someone a few day called me "a master of the light". In my eyes that is the greatest praise that I can get. So not a master of darkness, but a master of light.

I love this! The path looks as though it should lead to a beautiful enchanted garden or a clearing filled with old ruins. I love archways made of trees and vines and you have found a beautiful one and taken a wonderful shot of it. It's so wonderful!!
