Description
Here a beautiful specimen of "Hypholoma fasciculare". I had not submitted it before as I did not know its name, but thanks to Serephiminelysium I do so now.Related content

Very nice! They are beautiful! I like when I find them fresh and they aren't all dried and curled and half-eaten by bugs and slugs.

Perhaps we love them more because they are not there all the time.

Nah - I'd love 'em just as much if I didn't have to go months without seeing one!

i love all great nature shots, but fungi are something i'm presenty working on and did not have much chance to learn more about at the uni as for decades whe had no experts of mushrooms of lichens here. but i always loved their diversity, so i did my masters on lichens, and i'm working on protection of all fungi here now

Marvellous picture but definitely no Hypholoma fasciculare (Zwavelkop). Hypholoma fasciculare grows on treestumps and looks more yellowish and has a bitter taste.
This one is Oudemansiella mucida (Porseleinzwam) which grows on dead beech-stams or -branches.

Love the very slight play of light and shadow on the mushrooms, makes them look almost surreal and out of place! Great shot, with a very good angle to go with the composition, I like the little bit of background that you can see through the trees. Great shot!

I have to honestly remark that this is probably one of the best 'shroom photographs I have seen. You have captured the delicate fungus so well against the backdrop of water, bark and green plants. I notice that a leaf has also rested upon one. Well done on a great submission !!

Many, many thanks for commenting so pleasantly. Yes, I am glad about the composition and the light myself. And that leaf! First I hesitated, but then I realized that it was a very beautiful natural addition (I did NOT put it there!).

I really like the contrast between the silky smooth of the mushrooms and the roughness of the bark on the log.
