Description From my pictures you must get the impression that the forest around Hilversum are very lonely. Most weekdays they are so indeed, but on Sunday morning they certainly are not. Crews of organised mountain bikers rush along the lanes ...

Taken near Hilversum in the Netherlands.

Beautiful shot! I like the colored spots in the half-light of the wood!

Ah... *sighs wistfully* I would LOVE to go cycling there.

But then, there are about a thousand places I want to go mountain biking already…

i need to get a mtn bike, to go on photography outings, while getting exercise at the same time, like yourself!
only have a road bike, that wouldnt be suitable to hold the gear, that sits unused.
do you always hand hold, or do you carry a tripod as well?
would love to see your bike setup some time!

anyways . . . love your images, and thank you for sharing them!

Sorry that I did not react any earlier: I was just flooded with messages and so yours got buried under so many newer ones.

I just use a normal bike, a bit higher though, as my height is 1.90 m.

As to tripods, I just hate them. It takes so long to get them into position. I mostly either try to hold the camera in my hand, or to steady the lense on the bike´s saddle or at the side of a tree or something like that. I sometimes take the tripod along in the sidebag of the bike, but seldom use it. I realize that I lost quite a lot of good shots because of this laziness. So I try to improve here.

All the best in 2008!

Hello, cyclists! I think I would certainly like to be there on a Sunday morning. I'm not a fan of Sundays at all, but I think the forests you show would make them considerably more interesting.. :'D
