This looks similar to the morel mushrooms that grow around here... but we only see them in the springtime... it may be only a related species, but the ones we have here are edible, and people hunt for them when they're in season... they can sell for up to $20 per pound.

What a wonderful reaction. Many thanks.
One more thing: you may be interested to know that I have three galleries on dA, with different purposes. Feel free to take a look at the other two, too:

Looks like it was raining Viagra in this forest! VERY funky shroom! All it needs is a battery pack and... oops...time to stop typing!

The cap should be a dark green slime, but it must have rained and washed the spores away. The first time I ever saw one of these- it was a Phallus Raveneli, I think - I just about died, laughing!

Naughty little fungus. J/K I wonder if this is a different type of mushroom of just one that grew unique.

I only know it's name in hungarian, it's called 'szemΓ©rmetlen szΓΆmΓΆrcsΓΆg'. I can't translate it, but it sounds funny.

It's a Phallus impudicus (Grote stinkzwam in Dutch). You can smell it from 'miles' away

This one did not smell, I must say. But it drew a lot of comments!
