Description
Four swans flying across the Zuiderheide at Hilversum/The Netherlands in the light of the early morning-sun. At times it did seem indeed as if the last one had some problems in keeping up with the other three.Related content

It's cool how only the last one's wings look like they are flapping

haha... and the effect is even stronger, seeing how the last swan's wings are the most blurred. like he's flapping them really fast to keep up.
what always amazes me is how they are able to keep their neck that straight in flight.
(and wow, you were up early... )

Very well observed. Probably keeping the neck straight is a way of balancing.
Today I was early again!
Thank you a lot for coming along and commenting so enjoyably.

I wish I could get up early, too.
seems to be a great time to take photos. sadly, I rarely get up before 8:30 (after staying up till around 1 or 2). I just never manage to change my schedule...
but I still enjoy looking at photos taken by people who have no problems getting up early.

Nice scene, well caught.
BTW: there seem to be some specks of dirt (drops?) on your lens, you can see it in the left bottom and on the right side a bit.

I fear you may be right. I must clean the sensor again, I think.

Such a simple shot, but the colors are vibrant. Really draws your eye towards the birds in flight.

It's always strange when a small flock like this flies in formation with an even number of birds. It could have been because of the current from the front three swans that the straggler had some problems.
Cute shot. :]
