Description
Yesterday we had a brilliant day, with a lot of sunshine at last again. Please notice how also the heron in the left corner is enjoying it, taking in the sun.Taken near Tienhoven/The Netherlands.

Lovely scene - glad you pointed out the well-camouflaged heron! He really is enjoying it!

Great that you like it so much. Yes, that heron was special! I actually only discovered him on the picture as this shot is very highly zoomed.

I think its a great photograph, if only the sky was a bit more contrasted, it looks grey/blueish now. Very sad, but I know you can't do much about it. Its the smog filling up this country rapidly.
Love the shot Jurgen.

Great you like it. Actually the blue high up in the sky was ok. that day. With all the wind there was little smog.

I wonder whether he was hiding. Because of the zoom effect he seems near, but is pretty far away in reality. Just sitting there, enjoying the sun and saving up energy in a time of little food, I suppose.

Hmm yeah. What times zoom was it?

I have to guess. 54 mm, that looks like 6 to 8 times.

Lovely. Peaceful. I like this very much.
I went out as well with two (!) cameras (both mediocre), saw some wonderful clouds (what I can only call a "road in the sky") and got nul-nix in the way of photos 'cause one camera (just repaired - in vain) overexposed and the other (too old) underexposed. Grr. Frustration. I live in hope of one day being able to buy a decent camera.

I am very pleased you like it.
What a pity you did not have more success. Yes, a reasonable camera is necessary. You see, I do not have a SLR either, but that is not really necessary to make quite good photos.
