hmm - nice to see these flowers coming out (how is "krokus" called in english I wonder?) Is it really Crocus?

the shot itself is not that spectacular, and it's a shame they are so boringly in the center of the frame

You must have taken this lying down? Crocusses and snowdrops to me mean that spring is not far away. Lovely capture. Thank you for sharing.

It was enough to hold the camera very low and then see what the result would be like. In the meantime I have learnt to hold the camera pretty straight without looking through it.

This year spring here is behind schedule for about three weeks, people say. It makes you yearn ...

I absolutely love these spring flowers....the beautiful hardy Crocus

I know a few things about them, {I am a semi-gourmet cook} Beautiful shot!!!!!! I love it!

Saffron is the stigma part of the crocus flower (Crocus sativus).
The plant is indigenous to Western Asia and has been cultivated for thousands of years. With the opening of East – West trading saffron was introduced to Europe. The French, Spanish and Italians were the first to use it extensively in their cooking.
The world’s largest producer of saffron is Iran followed by Greece, Spain and India.
Saffron is one of the world’s most expensive spices since it is hand picked and handled very delicately.
It requires over 80,000 individual flowers to produce a full pound of saffron!

Nice shot...
Good to see spring is finally holding it's own....
I managed to grab a shot 2 weeks ago of our first little outburst of spring here in UK...'A promise of future Beauty'

Now I am just watching the birds in the woodland busying themselves for the work of nesting etc...
Ahhhh..... the promise of spring

Great colours! One point of critique: I would have focused the picture just a little bit more down. I think it's nice to see a little of the ground the flowers stand in. Keep up the good work!
