Description
Just a row of old beeches trees standing by themselves. Was there ever a lane? Hard to say. But they certainly are standing out as monumental giants along this forest path.Taken near Hilversum/The Netherlands

These were planted by someone to mark a boundary or way, the would never grow like that naturally. Lovely picture

Thanks. People in the 18th and 19th centuries had a great way of planting beech-tree lanes in their parks. They left a wonderful heritage for us!

I agree fully, they have given us a wonderful legacy which they themselves knew they would never see. A wonderfully unselfish humanitarian act

Beautiful! I love the colours and how the light goes across and you have the tree shadows, I would love to live in the Netherlands, they have beautiful forests, I hope I get to go there and see them someday
