Description An old ditch in the autumnal forest near Laage Vuursche/The Netherlands.
Trying out a new border. Some will like it, some probably not. I am still curious to know your reactions.

With many thanks to Matthijs:

I'd prefer a black/dark border, but the photo is still beautiful.

You may have noticed that the white borders have gone already again! Black borders have won! ... Well, for the time being.

Many thanks for commenting.

Hm, I still like the pictures without a border better. Just my personal preference. I like simplicity that still speaks volumes.

You may have noticed I gave up this border style quickly again. Simple black borders are now my favourate again.

Indeed. I think the black would have worked better. But it is good to experiment with different ideas to see which ones you prefer.

Very good so. I have just decided, though, to return to the black ones ...

You would love our forests here, I am sure, even if they are not very big.

I think the white border needs a thin border/frame of a darker colour around it as you lose the white on the webpage site which is this pale grey/green/whatever colour it is. But lovely photo

If you use the shaded version, this is no real problem as I far as I can see.

I have the shaded version except when I open an individual deviation then it is a lighter colour background ... is there a way to have the same darker colour on this page ?????????

A very beautiful capture with the most glorious mix of autumnal colours! The border's ok, it's simple and doesn't detract from the picture, which is most important in my estimation!

Many thanks so many days later. Actually I just decided to return to the old border. This one is too "sweet", I find by now.

I have to admit that beyond buttonising the image, I find it best not to add borders at all. So many people have different likes and dislikes re borders/frames etc., that I prefer to keep it very simple.

jchanders In reply to AnnaKirsten [2007-11-02 13:54:25 +0000 UTC]

Yes, keeping it simple is better. Still I find that a border gives a sense of more care and appreciation of a picture. Not just bang, there it is, perhaps even without a text either. I am glad we see eye to eye here.
