Description There will be another storm today, a heavy one, hitting fully the coast of the North Sea at the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. Hopefully with not too much damage. What it will be like at this place at the Baltic Sea, I do not know yet of of course. If the winds are rather south-westerly, it will be calm. Will they come from the north-west, this beach will get a heavy battering again.
Taken at BΓΌlk just round the corner of the outer Kiel Fjord, looking towards the Bay of EckernfΓΆrde/Germany.

It's a shame that storms cause damage because I find them quite exciting. Good capture here.

Fortunately this one was not as bad as the one on Thursday. That did take lives and cost quite some damage, here and elsewhere.

For an effect on our forests see:

Many thanks for all favs again. Very much appreciated.

I am very glad you like this shot so much too. Hopefully you did not have any damage from the storm?

No damage at all here. Other people had though. And three people died just outside the town where we live. One is an inhabitant.
What about you?

A fallen tree in the garden and a roof tile on the car front. So that is not very pleasant, but of course it is not vital.

Not pleasant at all!!! Luckely nothing happpened to you and your family!!!!
Will the insurance pay for the car front?
I always feel so bad when I see fallen trees. The storm before this one 'killed' one of our trees too! It fell into the neighbours garden. It was about 14 meters high!!!
The children of the neighbours loved it!!! Now they could 'climb' the tree very easely!!

I am afraid the insurance does not pay because it being in the "own risk" part (if one can say so). Anyway, it is a very old car and has some other scars already. What is life without scars?
As to the trees, I completely agree. And please see my latest old oak shots!

Thats a shame! Good you don't care about the scars that much! You're so right, what is life without scars?!
I will go to have a look at your latest old oak shots right now!!!

Nice shot.
As Gwitha mentioned we have been suffering Gale force winds inland today in the UK, some fatalities and injuries resulted from it

Beautiful shot!

I'm at the computer catching up on DA viewing and outside the wind is tearing at the rolldown window shutters and the rain is coming in occasional heavy gusts, slapping at the west window in the bedroom. They've said we can expect winds up to 150 kmps or more today (that's about 92 mph). I'm holding tight to my socks.

From the news of this morning I learn that the storm has hit very hard, especially in Britain, but also here and in Germany. I hope you had no problems.
We had to cut down a small tree in our garden which threatened to fall and take down the back wall. That was quite an action - with a handsaw!

I lost some fences and some garden furnature was thrown around, but no, no real damage. It was quite scary for a few hours tho.

Actually a tile fell on the front of our car. The car is very old, but still ...
I am glad you did not have any real damage.
