Description
Yes, this year we were too early in Sleswig-Holstein for the wonderful bright yellow rape fields - or let us rather say that spring was so very late. So we experienced just a first touch of yellow on our very last morning before going home again. It could not be helped. So let us hope for another year ...[PS. Many, many thanks to Gilad Benari who featured this picture yesterday in his weekly journal, with astounding effect! Cf. [link] ]

I am very pleased you like this shot so much, even if your photography is so much more graphic and in this sense much more "arty".

that's a great shot, I can understand why it was featured very good composition with the line leading to the trees...

The funny thing is that the title of this picture still very much reflects my first feelings about the scene, this "two early", i.e. the sadness about having missed the full blossoming of the rape.
But then came Gilad and opened my eyes to what I had only partly seen. Of course I had seen the lines, after all that is why had chosen to submit this shot and not one of the 10 others that I took at that field. But I never would have thought that it would be so "successful". Of course, without GiladΒ΄s pull it would never have happened.

I really like the feel of grandeur in this photo. The vastness of it makes us feel insignificant when compared to nature and, as your description states, we can't control nature and it will do as it pleases. It is a rather calming photo. Nicely taken!

The things is whenever I have a camera with me I donΒ΄t see something worth taking photos of, but if IΒ΄m without a cam, I see great things.
Hope the next time IΒ΄ll be able to get a shot of something beautiful
