Description
Charcoal on paper. (14"x17")Another older work. I don't have a clue when this was done. I don't work in charcoal hardly at all, because I can't stand how it feels on my fingers.

Yes, I don't like the feel of it either and haven't worked with it for probably 18 years or so. This has an almost relief sculpture feel to it.

Charcoal is such a nightmare to work with but you tamed the beast...another reason I don't like you anymore.

I hate charcoal. I doubt I'll ever work with it again. But it was worth it, just to have you not like me. .vaf eht rof sknahT

Charcoal on fingers...
No thanks.
Cool to see something older too. I enjoy the human form emerging through the face. Cool stuff!

Thanks KJ. I thought I was just weird because I didn't like charcoal. Apparently, not very many people like it either.

They want to get back in touch with the anchient artist spirits..... or some jazz like that. I dunno, I think it's just a terrably messy medium that doesn't really look all that great (most of the time).

Yeah, I never had much luck with it. And to be truthful, I'm glad. I would hate to have to learn to like it. Pencil is so much nicer, but lacking in absolute blackness. I can live with that.

It's a chain, but I'm not sure how big it is. Great place to buy art supplies though.

Hobby Lobby is pretty big. (the actual store, not the chain) It's not exactly a place you go for atmosphere, but they do have almost anything you'd want to draw an paint with.

Believe it or not, I hate charcoal for the same exact reason, I hate all kinds of surfaces (for art really) just because of the texture, strange, but this still looks great!
