Yeah, I dislike how increasingly violent the world is becoming, and the fact that countries that used to be known as "peacekeeping countries" are turning into nations that are more war-like. Canada comes to mind (captured and tortured 6x as many Afghans as the British did in the Afghan war). So, with this in mind, it's not hard to imagine another world war that kills of the majority of the world's population. Or global warming killing us all. D:

I highly doubt it will end in 12/21, there have been many "doomsdays" in the past, and nothing ever happened in those doomsdays (2000, 2004, 2011, ect). Why should this doomsday be any different from the others? Nothing will happen, I can show you a link to a Nasa article about the 2012 doomsday if you'd like.

I concur but agree. 2000 was a coincidence date, they thought it would end just because its a new millenium. 2004, well I dont know about that. 6/6/6, thats just a coincidence date they thought it would end just because the date is 6/6/6, and as for 11-11-11 they thought it would end just because it was all 1s. Well 12/21/21 is no coincidence it was actually prophesized in the Mayan prophecy, prophechy not coincidence. I say the chances of something going down on 12/21 are alot higher than the rumours started about the other dates. But only time will tell.

Well actually, today being 21st of December here I can tell you that the world very much hasn't ended, and that if it were to end then it would of happened a while ago since the Mya didnt account for leap year, since the system wasnt in existence at the time.

There are blackouts all over the world, all the time, especially around this time of year....I'm not exactly sure what that has to do with the subject of doomsday. I was just stating with my last comment that your hypothesis on dates being connect with the end of the world were a bit flawed. I hope you don't take offense, your intitled to your opinion.....though maybe you shouldn't write it in a way that insinuates its fact.

Yea, I agree with you there (being a natural born skeptic myself). I do think that the end of the world could happen soon, like when that meteoroid passes between the earth and the moon this year, plus the solar flares, and not to mention disease.....or going out on a limb it could happen in some religious fashion. There's no way to be sure, I just try not to worry about those things. People die, and I'm okay with that. I mean the world ending wouldn't be such a bad thing if you consider all the things that could come out of it. Maybe evolution would happen again after the humans died, and a new race would get a shot to do it right this time. I just hope that when, or if, it happens that life would still live on afterwards.

If I'm correct, the Mayan Calendar didn't count leap years, so the world would've ended years ago. So, let's see...
The Gregorian calendar was made in 1582.
2012 minus 1582 is 430
430 divided by 4 equals about 108
I know Leap Year doesn't occur on years like 1920 or 2000, but subtract 108 from 2012, and the world would've ended in...1904.

That's right. I know some people think it will end because the Mayan Calender ends this December, but the people will know our world is strong and we will stay alive. The world never ended in the past, and it will not end, next month, next year or in the future.
