Didja know July 20th is National Moon Day and National Space Exploration Day? This day was just calling out for me to draw Ready Jet Go! fan art!
I decided to draw Jet's loving parents, Celery and Carrot, because they're intergalactic travel writers and they are fascinated by moons - from Earth's one groovy moon to the three moons of Bortron 7 and Jupiter's many moons, of which there are well over 67! And yes, their names really are Celery and Carrot. These Bortronians thought they were typical Earth names, without realizing they were veggie names. (I don't blame them - they sound enough like "Sally" and "Garrett".) I decided to design their outfits off of the themes of their names, with Celery's outfit incorporating some shades of desaturated green and Carrot having...well, some carrot applique's on his shirt.  They're going on a nice Earth date illuminated by moonlight, at the place where they can see Earth's moon best. I was kinda inspired by their song "Let's Fly Our Little Saucer To The Moon" from the show. I've never drawn Carrot and Celery together yet, so I was really happy to do that today.
And yes, their noses honk when they kiss. It's a Bortronian thing. And it's not just a Jennaverse HC - it's really canon in the show. (Okay, Celery's nose squeaks but that's close enough, right?)
