As I've been gone nine months, this is not new. It's actually over 9 months old but I never uploaded it for some reason.

This is an ornate wooden box I decorated for my boyfriend's grandmother when her husband passed away last year. She loves dolphins but making a simple piece of jewelry somehow didn't seem appropriate, so I came up with the idea to make a jewelry Box instead. It is sanded and painted over, then painted over again with the blue metallic watery designs made of Perfect Pearls, a mica pigment similar to Pearl-Ex but much easier to work with for its ability to instantly and permanently adhere to any surface when wet. Its effect is gorgeous. In the future I will probably use a polyurethane finish rather than a simple matte spray over it to preserve its contrast to the background paint, but the result has still been stunning with this piece.

All of the silver bits are hand-sculpted and painted polymer clay which has then been antiqued and sealed, and glued to the box.

Within is a handmade black velvet cushion, and the same material it is created from lines the bottom.

This was not at all easy to make, but looking back on it, I thuroughly enjoyed the challenge.

I will gladly create boxes of a similar style for around $75 which includes all supplies needed (unless you specifically ask for something very expensive put on it).

Noting me probably won't work very well; you're advised to e-mail me at jemnisimi at (@) yahoo dot com.
