Mark this day: Violet. In pants.----
Back with the Violet character, floating in a forest (hey, she's a telepath/telekinetic, it's a thing) to test the new Altern8 product, as well as some dForce wind settings on the Kinley hair. This is a 15mph wind, which, honestly, should have her hair flying a LOT harder than this. I suspect that dForce still has some work to do on those things, but what it came up with in this render isn't bad! I dig it.
As you can see, the new Altern8 product works with the Genesis3 Female pretty well, and with pretty great results right out of the box. This render took me about 25 minutes without Altern8. With Altern8, about half that time.
Overall I'm pretty impressed with it!

You're right about the wind...a fifteen mph wind would be sending her hair everywhere and flattening the top against her body. Good render, though. The lighting effects have come a long way.

Believe it or not, I had to fiddle with the lighting intensity on these past two renders - apparently even though iRay wants something like 15k lumens, the default for some reason sets to 1.5k or thereabouts (depending on which rig you're using), which is the 3Delight standard, instead.
So the new tech doesn't default to its own standards, for some reason.

Oh, so she is floating! I had thought that it looked more like she was floating than jumping, but that's exactly what she is doing!
I love how she looks, the bright purple hair combined with her pale skin are amazing. Good work!

I'm glad you like her! I'm so fond of the way this new hair works, too. It's a new favorite, honestly.
Out of curiosity, how do you feel the new skin settings work compared to the one I posted the other day?

I think the last ones looked a bit more natural but it might be because it was a closer look.
