no its not a 10 unit its a tens unit, tens stands for Trans-epidermal nerve stimulation. I love my home unit, I use it for exactly the same area my back.

I dont really like em all that much for the first mintue is fine but then after that it just starts feeling to weird to me and i want it off lol Im better with heating pads rather then those!

Ahhh the heat pads are really great but i don't think ones that are really effective are safe as home units
