A simple and kind girl that just wants to live through day to day happily. Without any major life goals or ambition Kirin lives a simple life doing things she likes. As a child she was quite sheltered by family since she’s the youngest child of 4. Because of how her parents raised she’s developed an instinctual reflex to flee whenever she senses danger. Whenever something bad happens she’s always the first to flee or hide. While she’s been taught to be wary of strangers, she is a kind soul that is always willing to help others if they are in trouble, though not before she assess the situation. If someone was hurt or needs help she would try to overcome her fears to help a person in need. Another consequence of her sheltered life is that she has a vague understanding of the outside world and other species as her family would always regard everything as bad or dangerous. As a result of being brought up with such biased view of the world she’s always nervous about various thing. But she is always willing to open up and learn about new things and open minded.

Despite being raised to be careful about the outside world she’s also someone whose highly curious about new and strange things that she doesn’t know about. She has a mild temperament and tends to forget about all the bad things. She is easily forgivable of others and rarely ever holds grudges. Kirin is constantly in an inner turmoil between her fear and curiosity, though the cause of many of her fears is self induced from her own over active imagination as she tends to think too much. Because she is not well adept at socializing she tends to think of the worse case scenerios and get lost in her own thoughts.
[ * H I S T O R Y ]"Let's see, I was born the youngest and only daughter of 4 to a happy Sika deer family. I have 3 older brothers and really overprotective parents that seem to have a heart attack whenever I try to do anything on my own. But they are really kind and caring so I can't really complain too much about them except that they just worry too much over every little thing. My family is pretty ordinary; we live in the forest nearby a small town and have a small herb farm. We grow all sorts of herbs and rare medicine on our farm. When I am not helping my parents tend to the farm I would often go with my brothers into the forest to forge for other rare plants that can't be grown. I've been helping out ever since I was little so I know about almost every known species of plants out there. Though we didn't have much trouble or danger back home occasionally we would have strange travelers come by to visit the forest. One time I got so startled by a stranger I hid in a bush for a whole day straight.

Aside from forging and tending the farm, our family is also in-charge of supplying the nearby towns with herbs and medicinal plant. It's quite fun traveling to the towns since it so lively and different from our home out near the forest. Though when I was little brothers always had to keep me on a child leash when we go because I would get lost in town....a lot. Every time I get lost I would pray to my grandpapi in deer heaven for what to do while standing frozen at all the strangers trying to help a lost child. In recent years I've been able to handle running errands on my own though, just when I run into travelers on the way asking for directions I tend to panic. I always end up thinking things like 'what if they're trying to mug me or worst KIDNAPPERS??!! STRANGER DANGERRR' and then I end up sweating a puddle and shaking in place. Then my brother who was stalking me on my errands always end up coming out to clear up the situation. All is good ahahhahah.....

Anyways after the news of the unexplored island reached where we lived I tried to think of ways to convince my parents to let me go to the capital. I think they eventually agreed since they didn't want me to collapse the house from my vibrations of excitement. I really hope I can learn a lot more from this trip and be more useful back home that way my family doesn't have to worry over me so much all the time. While I may not seem reliable in most other aspects......w-when it comes to p-plants I-I'm pretty confident in my abilities."

Because her family are deer hybrids they are skilled at foraging for rare plants in the forest that are difficult to find. Aside from doing business with the nearby towns they also occasionally get visited by travelers and researchers that want to visit the forest nearby. Overall a peaceful simple childhood of a smoll deer that lives on a herb farm.

While their family mostly have positive interactions with others that they meet, like any decent parents, Kirin's parents drilled into her head ever since she was little about being careful around strangers and not to run off on her own. For the most part little Kirin, scared by her parents stories of what would happen if she would get kidnapped, adhered to her parents teachings of stranger danger quite well but 'not running off on her own' rule seemed to have gotten lost in the midst of things as she was always a highly curious child. Because of this, and the few times she had gotten lost in town, her family had always had to tie a child leash on her whenever they go into town.

As she grew older Kirin became more comfortable with interacting with familiar faces she'd meet on her errand runs though her nervousness around strangers seems to run deeeeeeep. Among the familiar people their family became close with was their local fluffy delivery boy Nova. Despite his unconventional ways of delivering at least everything gets delivered. Kirin while at first was quite nervous around him at first, vibrating intensifies the closer he gets, she managed to warm up to him and become good friends. Together the two often get into weird shenanigans and silly antics as both are a highly gullible bunch.

While she had never really travelled farther than the towns nearby her home, when the news of a mysterious unexplored islands reach to the countryside where she lived she became drawn to the prospects of adventure and it piqued her interest. The possibility of discovering unknown plants like her late grandpapi and able to go where no one else had been. As soon as the news became widespread she immediately planned her daily routine of bugging her parents to let her go to the capital to sign up for the expedition. Kirin's parents had initially disapprove of the idea, feeling their daughter was much to naive for the outside world, but after a few weeks of pestering and with much reluctance they had finally agreed to let her go. As a safety measure they decided to 'mail' their daughter through Nova to the capital thinking it was the best way to get her there in one piece. And so the adventures of two bakas going to the capital and eventually Umeojin begun.
