Is it a stick insect? Thought was like a praying mantis type thingy, or are they in the same family?

I don't think those are too common up here, so that's interesting to hear that you took it in your laundry room!

I'm no expert either, just thought that stick creatures where more stick looking
Only problem with finding it in the laundry was that the humidity kept fogging up the lens. Didn't help that my room where i keep the camera was quite cool from the aircon at the time
