Description
More of the same. This one was done mostly while I was recuperating from a back spasm. Y'know, I work-out multiple times a week, and do some kind of exercise every day. Wasn't in any kind of shape to drink professionally. One day in a beach chair, and my back was out for the next 48 hours. Gotta stay in practice!Finished this on the plane trip back to DC. I so miss the sun...

Great to see new artwork from you! Sounds like Mexico was a good time. I haven't been down that way for a while, and what I remember of it were good times.

What exactly do you have to practice? Being lazy and sitting in a beach chair? Dude, I am so your trainer. Love the texture you are getting with just a pencil or whatever space age utensil you are using.

That texture is created with a super space age ballpoint gel pen from Office Depot. My trusty Uniball Signo 207, Micro point. The ink flows beautifully onto Moleskine paper. The girl was in red pencil and inked with a handy-dandy Faber Castell brushpen (also found at Office Depot, and better art supply stores)...

It's just funny when you say the three words over and over. monkeys lizards babes lizards monkeys babes monkeys babes.. Drink heavily and try and run the words all together. You will giggle beer through your nostrils...

Very much coolness. I don't know where our booth is yet. Four of us have two tables that we're calling the Badmonkeybrain Collective. Or maybe just Badmonkeybrain. We gotta hook up, bro.

Yeah, cool!
Dunno on my table either, it's a small press table, that's all I know.
I asked to be next to the crew (cool doods).
I've also got a couple buddies I'm staying with, that are sharing a booth (between like 3 people).
I'd love to share space and cut costs, but fitting publishing and art display all in one space, no matter the size, is always tuff...
So yeah, def need to catch up at the show!

Wow!
She is a beauty, and that is quite the detailed, elegant background.
Wonderful work, most wonderful.

Thanks much! Years ago, I overcame a fear of flying by scribbling monkeys furiously on take-off and landing. It has led me to a number of these little Moleskine-sketchbook monkey-scribble-illustrations.

Who knew overcoming fear could produce such awesome artistic results?
