Description It had been seven months since Morrigan had come into contact with Joe and the symbiote. Seven long months of Morrigan's cursed existence, Seven months of torment at Joe's defeat of her despite her incredible power, seven months of the knowledge that someone as cocky and arrogant as that guy was more powerful then her.

Morrigan nearly collapsed in pain as her bats screeched, sending magic enhanced sound waves into the symbiote, forcing it into such a state of weakness that Morrigan was able to wrench herself free from it, then as the now naked succubuss stared at the tiny, weak creature, she willed her bats to tear it apart, killing it.

The power was great sure, but the price was to high "besides" she thought "I bet that guy made it so that it couldn't destroy him" Morrigan reassured herself yet again.

In a desperate attempt to counter his powers, Morrigan had spent the last seven months researching. She read as many books on the occult and magic as she could find, though no mention of Joe was in any of them.

Except for one book, that was called "a brief history of the world's mythical side". It seemed like a normal everyday mortal book and Morrigan was about to return it, when an illustration caught her eye. It was the same skull faced, jacket she'd seen Joe wear and the tagline beneath it read "mysterious guardian of universe"

Morrigan had looked over the next chapter, which dealt with Joe quite a lot; he was apparently, Immortal, as he'd been seen throughout earth's history, he could supposedly, bend reality to his will if he chose to and to top it all off he had an infamous personality, such as extreme arrogance.

When they had met, Morrigan had underestimated Joe, which was why he had so easily humiliated her, well next time she saw him, she was going to use her full power against him right from the start, and this time she'd crush him like an ant.

The problem was; without the symbiote she no longer had an edge on Joe. So Morrigan began a search for an item that could boost her power beyond anything; including Joe.

And that's when her research led her to an ancient Norse myth. Now Morrigan was no expert on Norse mythology, but she knew Loki was a trickster god, similar to Joe in some ways, anyway; this Norse myth said that Loki had placed all his power into a wooden mask that he'd cast to earth centuries ago.

Normally Morrigan would never believe in such a tale, but after her fight with Joe, her mind had become open to all possibilities, besides, as far as she could see it, the best way to beat Joe would be through this thing "Fight fire with fire" Morrigan said as she smiled evilly.

And so, Morrigan searched high and low for the mask, moving around the world, following clues, hoping to find her tool for success.

One day, Morrigan was sat in a small café in France; she was checking another lead that said the mask was in a museum display about the time period it was supposedly from.

She had visited the museum earlier that same day, and sure enough, there sat am ancient wooden mask that matched every description and picture she had seen; now all she needed to do was make sure it worked.

Morrigan stood on the museum's roof, she was wearing her normal costume and she held a small tome in her hands. She opened the book and skimmed through it till she found a marked page.

For the umpteenth time, Morrigan read the legend of the mask, which granted its wearer the power to fulfil their deepest desires, and Morrigan's strongest desire right now, was the death of Joe.

Morrigan closed the book, and sprang her plan into action. She easily entered the building, and quickly made her way to the exhibit where her prize was waiting.

As she turned a corner, that would lead her directly to the mask, she bumped into a guard "well, well what do we have here? A regular little cat burglar" he said with a grin as he grabbed Morrigan's arm "come on now, you're coming with me, while I phone the police" he said in French.

A short time later Morrigan turned the corner again "men are so easy to manipulate" she said as she licked her lips "still who said you can't have business and pleasure at the same time?" she chuckled as she walked into the exhibit.

Morrigan wandered around the room happily, after all these month's she'd have her revenge and nothing could spoil it for her. She saw the mask in a small glass display case, which she smashed easily.

An alarm sounded, but by the time the guards arrived, Morrigan was gone!

Morrigan sat in her hotel room, which she'd bought for her stay in Paris. She held the mask in her hands and almost giddily, raised it to her face. Just before it touched her face, a strong wind pulled her head towards it! But Morrigan laughed and pushed the mask away.

"Hmm seems the legends were true, good, though I can't risk wearing this thing before the idiot arrives, who knows what I could do without him here to kill" she said as she placed the mask on her bedside table and went to sleep, after all you can't slaughter morons when you're tired.

Morrigan yawned loudly, as her eyes fluttered open, today was the big day, the day she had her revenge for her humiliation, hell after the fight she could barely show her face in Makai again.

She quickly got out of bed and got changed into her regular costume and placed some candles on the hotel room floor. Morrigan had discovered a ritual that should summon Joe to the room with her, all she needed was some candles, some salt and oddly enough a bottle of coke.

Morrigan spread the salt on the floor, forming a giant O, J, C. she wasn't entirely sure what the O and C meant but the J was obviously Joe. Morrigan placed the coke next to the J and chanted in a strange language.

Suddenly, all the candles blew out, and a large gust of wind howled through the room. A large grey light appeared in the centre of the circle of candles! A black shape started to fade into reality and then the wind died down and a loud "thump" noise resounded out through the room.

Joe groaned loudly "ow I hate it when people summon me" he said as he grabbed the coke and began to swill it down. He stood up, not noticing Morrigan behind him "okay where am I?" he asked lazily as he finished his drink.

"France, Paris to be precise" Morrigan said calmly at Joe, who still didn't turn around "oh what the hell! France? I hate France! It's full of French people" he grumbled to himself as he turned to face Morrigan.

He was about to say something when he froze, Morrigan grinned "remember me? The one you cursed and humiliated" she spat as ropes suddenly appeared round Joe binding him.

Morrigan sauntered over to Joe and pushed him down into a chair "well I got rid of your little present" she said as she picked up an object from the table "and I've been thinking, you have all this power, yet you act like such a buffoon, in fact that's how you beat me, I underestimated you" she said angrily.

She walked over to him and looked him in the eye, so to speak "so these last few months I've been thinking, why not fight fire with fire? I hold in my possession, an ancient and powerful mask, that'll give me powers like yours, and finally let me kill you".

Morrigan walked back to the centre of the room, mask in hand "hey wait a second babe, can't we talk this out?" Joe said nervously as Morrigan grinned "no, this started in a hotel room it's gonna end in a hotel room!" she said as she slammed the mask on her face.

The mask expanded over Morrigan's facial features, moving over and past the sides of her face, all the while Morrigan laughing evilly. The wind picked up again, and thunder roared throughout the hotel room.

A bolt of lightning crashed into the floor beside Morrigan, and almost as if that was a starting signal, Morrigan started to spin around. Morrigan had transformed into a large, black and purple tornado that tore around the hotel room nearly colliding with the still bound Joe a few times.

The speed of twister that was Morrigan, increased, as it moved round the room even faster then before and, due to the increased movement, the wind picked up speed as well.

All the while she had been spinning, Morrigan was laughing, though now, rather then sounding evil, her laughing sounded kind of girly to Joe.

The tornado stopped moving around the room and instead settled for a spot right in front of Joe! Joe looked on as the tornado suddenly stopped, with a loud cartoon like screech, revealing Morrigan to Joe.

She looked almost unchanged, her hair was the same, her clothes were the same, heck the only difference was the bright green colour of her face!

Joe looked up at Morrigan, who sent a massive grin at Joe, as she fished about at the side of his chair for something. Joe gulped loudly, closed his eyes and prepared for the worst, when suddenly he felt his ropes fall away!

Joe opened his eyes and saw a smiling Morrigan with a giant pair of scissors un her hands and two huge hearts where her eye's should be "there that's better" she said as she sat down next to Joe, her eye's back to normal, but giving him a seductive look.

She snuggled up closer to Joe and put her arms round him "wait you're not going to kill me?" he asked as Morrigan looked up at him "why would I kill you baby? Considering all the fun we'll have" she said smoothly as she pressed herself against Joe even more.

Inside Morrigan's mind; a tiny, chibi version of her regular self was throwing a major hissy fit "no! You need to kill him painfully, not cuddle up with him, what's your problem" she shrieked hysterically. "No way, I love him way to much too ever hurt my little Joey" the new Morrigan told the old one.

The original Morrigan looked stunned "what did you just say?" she screamed madly. The new Morrigan laughed "you heard me, now shut up for a while, I'm having fun with Joe" she said.

On the outside, Morrigan is leaning over to Joe "aw come on, one little smooch" she begged cutely "sorry I have this thing about only kissing on third dates" Joe said as he stood up "plus, just two seconds ago you were plotting to murder me" he said simply.

Morrigan laid down on the couch "yeah two seconds ago, meaning it's in the past, I'm a completely different person now, trust me" she said as she stood up and walked towards Joe. She put her arms round Joe's neck "well since you put it that way" Joe said as he and Morrigan leaned towards each other.

The original Morrigan was frozen in shock, her jaw was dropped and her skin around her face turned a green colour not unlike the one of her bodies. "This can't be happening!" she yelled "I was supposed to have my revenge, not kiss the guy!"

Morrigan pulled away from Joe "see we can have lots of fun you and me" she said enticingly. Morrigan motioned her head towards the couch "why don't you sit down" she said as Joe complied

She grinned at him "you know Paris is also famous for fashion as well as art" she said as Joe groaned "oh great a crappy fashion show". Morrigan placed her hand on his cheek "trust me you'll love this one" she said as she started to spin around again.

When Morrigan stopped spinning, she was wearing a bunny girl outfit, in the same colour scheme as her usual costume. Morrigan smiled seductively at "what do you think?" she asked as she posed for him "awesome" Joe said simply as Morrigan began spinning again.

The original Morrigan was close to tears "no my plans are ruined, that bastard did something to me while I was changing I'm sure of it" she howled.

Meanwhile, Morrigan had stopped spinning again, and now she was wearing a very enticing French maid's outfit. Morrigan giggled "as they say, when in Rome" "do as the Romans do" Joe finished as the duster Morrigan held in her hand dropped to the floor. "Oops" she said unconvincingly as she bent down to pick it up, Joe sat still as he watched the scene in front of him "this is the best day ever" he said happily.

When Morrigan stood up, she turned around and looked at Joe "last costume baby, then the real fun begins" she said "oh boy" Joe replied as he watched Morrigan turn into another twister.

This time, when she stopped, Morrigan was wearing a very skimpy nurses uniform "I hope your ready for the physical" she said sexily, as she span around one final time, and when she stopped she was wearing her normal costume again.

Morrigan walked over to the bedroom door "you coming?" she asked as Joe quickly stood up in response. Before Joe could walk over to her though, he slipped on a conveniently placed banana peel, which caused him to fly towards Morrigan.

Expecting a crash, Joe was surprised to find his head had hit something soft "good thing, you hit the airbags" Morrigan giggled as Joe realised where his head was. After extracting himself from Morrigan, Joe was about to enter the bedroom, when Morrigan said "oh wait, I forgot something".

She walked out into the room again and went for the table, but before she reached it, she stepped on the same banana peel Joe had, which propelled her forwards, and made her knock her head on the table.

Joe ran over to the unconscious Morrigan "well that figures" he mumbled "hey you okay?" hey asked as he turned Morrigan over.

Morrigan opened her eyes and looked at Joe "never better" she said as she punched Joe with a massive boxing glove on her hand.

Joe flew into the nearby wall "ow, hey I'm not really into that stuff" he said groggily. Morrigan stood up "you little S***t" she growled as her eyes turned red "you nearly ruined my plan, tell me what you did to this mask?" she growled as she grabbed Joe and tossed him to the other side of the room.

She stormed over to him "you humiliated me again today" she proclaimed as she kicked him so hard he landed next to the window "and now I'm going to humiliate you, but first lets play a game, how about Baseball?"

Joe looked up at Morrigan, who was now dressed in a classic Baseball uniform, a bar bigger then her in her right hand. Joe gulped loudly as she swung her bat and knocked him out into the French streets. Morrigan looked out of the broken window "he's going, going gone!" she yelled as she dived after him

Joe crash landed in the middle of a street, as a crowd gathered round him. He sat up shakily "oh sweet merciful Kaiser, that hurt" he cried as he tried to stand up. Suddenly Joe heard a loud whistling sound, but he couldn't see anything that could cause it, then he noticed that he was cast in a shadow and so he reluctantly looked up "oh he-" he was interrupted by a large safe landing on him.

Morrigan sat atop the safe, chuckling to herself at the power she now wielded. She jumped down off the safe and slowly walked towards the door. Morrigan grabbed the massive dial and turned it till she heard the click. She gleefully opened the door and saw Joe standing through a hole in the safe "ouch" he said weakly.

Morrigan wrapped one of her hands round his neck and dragged him out of the safe "this is it, now you die!" she yelled as she got ready to punch him while wearing a glove with spikes on it.

Joe hung his head in defeat, when he suddenly heard someone crying. Joe struggled to turn his head towards the source of the sobbing, though when he did he wished he hadn't. Joe saw a woman leaning down next to a young child, whose legs were caught under the safe.

The child was either unconscious or dead, Joe couldn't tell.

Morrigan turned to where Joe was looking "oh well, another one bites the dust" she said insanely as she threw her punch.

However before it connected, Joe caught her fist, a surprised look grew on Morrigan's green features "oh you still have some fight in you?" she taunted.

Joe lifted his head so he was staring Morrigan in the face "you will pay for that!" he said, a burning rage in his voice. Morrigan was taken aback by Joe's sudden personality change; he was normally such a practical joker after all.

Joe suddenly kicked Morrigan hard, which sent her flying, though he still held her arm, which stretched as she flew away. Morrigan suddenly stopped moving away from Joe, and started rocketing towards him, her arm returning to normal as she drew closer.

Just before she impacted with Joe, he sent a punch directly towards her face, which connected, causing her green head to mould around Joe's fist "round two, fight" Joe said

Joe removed his fist from her face, but Morrigan's head was now concave. Morrigan's face turned red and steam blew out her ears, as she put her thumb in her mouth and blew, returning her to normal.

She glared at Joe "what's with you?" she asked "nothing, I was just waiting to for the perfect moment to make my comeback" he said cheerily. Morrigan didn't believe him, there was no faking the rage and hatred she had felt earlier, but she decided against pushing the matter.

Morrigan reached into the front of her costume, and pulled out a stereo "come on then let's dance" she said as she put on some music. Joe chuckled "hey they're playing our song" he replied as he drew his weapons.

At the café, where Morrigan had sat yesterday, the day continued as normal, the waiters served, the customers ate and drank and the French people surrendered, all was normal, until Joe and Morrigan arrived that is.

There was a clang of steel meeting steel, as Joe's sword was locked in battle with Morrigan's, who was now dressed as a traditional Japanese samurai "you insulted my honour, now you must die" she said in a stereotypical Japanese voice "not today, good guys always win" Joe replied arrogantly.

The people in the streets panicked and ran away from the insane fight, which now involved Joe pointing his pistol at a cowgirl Morrigan who reciprocated his gesture.

She smiled at him "do ya feel lucky? Punk" she said "of course, I make my own good luck, babe" Joe replied. They both shot at the same time, but their bullets deflected each other's "well that was expected" Joe sighed as he charged Morrigan again with his sword.

Just before he reached her though, Morrigan pulled a giant mallet out from nowhere, and hit Joe, burying him into the ground. "Just where do you keep this stuff? Your costume doesn't even have pockets!" he cried as he pulled himself up.

However, when Joe looked for Morrigan, she was nowhere to be found "ah come one, what's the matter? You chicken?" he yelled. Suddenly Joe was pulled upwards for no apparent reason, though when he was the same height as the nearby buildings rooftops, he saw what was going on.

Morrigan sat on a rooftop, with a fishing rod in her hands "lookie what I got!" she cried happily, as she reeled Joe in closer. Joe reached into his pocket "oh yeah? Check out what I found!" He then pulled a 20ft great white shark from his pocket, which he threw at Morrigan.

Morrigan let out a girly scream as the shark landed on her, she let go of the fishing rod and Joe, dropped down to the streets again.

A short while later, a bruised and bitten Morrigan jumped down as well "hey I think he likes you" Joe said as he stood on the sidewalk. She glared at him "what are you doing over there?" she asked as Joe held something behind his back "oh nothing, just waiting for you" he said.

Joe quickly pulled a hose out from behind him, which fired off a massive jet of water. Morrigan's eyes jumped 5 ft out of her eye sockets, when she saw the water, but before she could escape, she was sent flying.

Joe turned off the water, and saw a drenched Morrigan sitting on the other end of the street. She opened her mouth and a small waterfall cascaded out of her open mouth. Joe swore he saw a goldfish fall out as well, but he didn't have time to check, because Morrigan was back up.

Joe chuckled "damn! That costume looks great on you wet" he said, which caused Morrigan to become so angry, the heat from her rage dried her off.

Morrigan ran at Joe so fast she, appeared to be a blur, and when she hit him, she turned into a giant tornado that stretched high into the sky.

When it stopped spinning, there was a large medieval catapult in the middle of the street, and Morrigan and Joe were tied together and laying in it. Morrigan looked confused "hey wait, why am I tied to you?" she asked. Joe shrugged "because" he said simply as the catapult fired.

The two bound enemies flew through the Paris skyline, until they both crash landed next to the Eiffel tower.

They both started to struggle to free themselves and the rope came apart because of it. They both jumped back from each other "well Joe, it's been fun, but I think this is it" she said "yeah your probably right" Joe replied.

Morrigan smirked "round three, fight" she said as they both dashed at each other. Morrigan tried to hit Joe with a combination of punches and kicks, but he avoided him, though when Joe tried to fight back, she managed to hit him into a metal beam.

Joe picked himself up and launched a kick that knocked Morrigan back. He then started to run up the side of the tower, until he reached the top.

Joe looked round for Morrigan "hmm where is she?" he wondered aloud. Suddenly he heard a loud, jet engine like, noise and when he turned to the source, he saw Morrigan with a jetpack on her back.

Joe looked at her "I thought you had wings?" he asked "pfft, wings are so 1994, jetpacks are the future" she said as she dived towards Joe. Joe jumped up just as Morrigan, flew past the area he was standing "time to pull out my secret weapon" he said.

Joe landed back on the top of the tower, as Morrigan came back, this time, in a toy biplane. Joe groaned "a King Kong joke? You can do better then that babe" he said as he pulled am empty crossbow out of his pocket.

Morrigan laughed "what are you going to do with that?" she asked as she armed her little machine guns. Joe looked at her and produced a toilet plunger "this" he said as he armed the crossbow with the plunger.

Before he fired Joe pulled out a rope, which he wrapped round his shoulder and waist, like an ammo belt. He then took aim at the airborne Morrigan, and fired the plunger.

Morrigan gasped loudly, but before she could evade it, the plunger had landed on her face. She started to lose control of the small plane, and Joe leapt for her dive bombing figure.

He grabbed the plunger's handle and pulled with all his might. Morrigan could feel the mask coming loose, and before she knew it, it started to feel like normal wood again. When it was nearly off, Morrigan began to spin again, though this time, the wooden mask was visible in the twister and finally, with one final pull from Joe, it came off her face.

Morrigan stopped spinning and she was now her original self. Joe held the plunger in one hand and with the other; he pulled the rope off of himself and bound Morrigan's arms to her body.

Joe landed on his feet before Morrigan crash landed. He put the mask and plunger down on the ground, held out both arms and caught Morrigan, bridal style.

As soon as Morrigan realised who was holding her, she stared to kick and scream "no it isn't fair, if you hadn't of done something to the mask, I'd have won" she whined as Joe continued to hold her.

Joe looked, down at Morrigan, "let me tell you a little secret, I didn't do anything to that mask" he said, which made Morrigan freeze. She looked up at him "yo-your lying!" she sad uncertainty "no I'm not, best guess I can make is that; after our first fight, you started to research me right?" Morrigan nodded her reply.

"well, I think" Joe continued "that after learning about me, your subconscious, became fascinated, or dare I say infatuated with me, and when you put that mask on, it brought your inner most desires to the forefront, in short you've got a crush on me, and that mask made you act on it" Joe finished as he laid the bound Morrigan on the floor.

Morrigan was at a loss for words, it wasn't true was it? She, the great Morrigan Aensland, was somehow infatuated with?

Joe picked the mask up "you know this thing is dangerous, I should deal with it" he said as he threw it in the air and fired at it repeatedly with his pistol.

When it landed, it was nothing more, then a few charred pieces of wood, which Joe stomped on "well that takes care of that" he said cheerily as he walked away.

Leaving Morrigan to think about these new revelations "okay no more revenge, I'm going to forget he ever existed" she thought to herself, as the ropes around her finally came undone.

Recalling our group chat sometime ago and the link you relayed to me, I would like to thank you for that and my own apologies in the long wait; as it was not my intention, but it did slip my mind for a while. It is a interesting tale and captures the comic energy and colour of The Mask franchise well, along with some warmth that is rarely found in Morrigan Aensland's exploits. A nice tale of comic fantasy with the mask of Loki .

Thanks, for the longest time I've been wondering if I should follow this up with a sequel, since by and large my writing style has improved greatly since this, also Joe has evolved a fair bit since this was written

Interesting. That is good to know, and would be nice to see how and where one's evolved style has led .

Omigod, I barely dared to hope you'd do something more with this!
Absolutely hysterical as always *claps excitedly*
Well done! I can't wait to see more if you get motivated again. You have the makings of a hilarious comedy/adventure here.

I have been thinking of continuing, but it's finding the perfect material for a sequel or rather threequel that's the issue, there's a lot I can do with Joe, since by his chaotic nature, there's a lot I can mix him up in, from talking semi-racist cats, too a crazy stalker Mother Nature, there's an issue of mixing Morrigan in it somehow, and making it both a plausible continuation, and one that ups the ante from the last time

Hmmmm....well, if she decides to be his girlfriend (with or without his consent), that could lead to some funny adventures what with Joe being a pretty much omnipotent being, especially if Morrigan's in the position of trying to win his affection.....

Perhaps, though I already have a character for that, the aforementioned Stalker Mother Nature, who is a character in the Joe story, she's crazy in love after one night of drunked sex, and is borderline omnipotent too

Hmmmm...a love triangle between a reluctant god, a sociopathic goddess, and a succubus.....IMAGINE the possibilities! LOL!

I have, And I would hardly say reluctant, Joe loves his powers and uses them for his own needs, albeit he will help those in need, when he thinks he's needed, usually though he just screws around
